Definition
Answer visibility can include mentions, citations, prominence, factual accuracy, sentiment, comparison context, and omissions. These dimensions should be recorded separately before any summary is created.
Because generated outputs vary, the observation should retain the prompt, engine, mode, date, market conditions, and raw response evidence.
Why it matters
It helps teams move beyond isolated screenshots and identify whether the real problem is absence, inaccuracy, weak evidence, poor source coverage, or a conversion gap after discovery.
Distinction
What it is—and what it is not.
Answer visibility is not the same as organic ranking, referral traffic, or pipeline. Those are connected but separate measurements.
Example
A company may have high mention visibility for branded prompts but low non-brand visibility for the category questions that create a shortlist.
